Shaun Fagan (Coach Fox), originally from St. John’s, NL, moved to Fort McMurray almost 17 years ago and is proud to call Fort McMurray home. Shaun has a wealth of hockey knowledge and experience, as a player and coach at the world, national, and provincial levels. Shaun also proudly represented Team Canada multiple times, winning the World Ball Hockey Championship in 2022 in the Masters Division.
With over 20 years of coaching experience on top of being a player of the game for over 40 years, Shaun Fagan is dedicated to developing young hockey players on and off the ice. Shaun’s ice hockey background includes time in the Jr. A, Jr. B, and Senior AAA leagues, where he earned five provincial titles with his Senior AAA team.
Shaun has worked and coached with many development groups, including Diamond Edge Factory, Danny Cleary Hockey School, and U7/U9 Coach Mentor for FMMHA. Shaun’s passion for coaching started at a young age, helping his dad on the ice run his practice sessions. Shaun’s dad, Fox Sr., is a member of the NL Hockey Hall of Fame as a coach.
Shaun’s sense of humour, knowledge, passion, and ability to communicate with the players he coaches helped create a positive environment where all players can thrive. Shaun believes in fostering a positive environment that emphasizes skill development, teamwork, and a love for the sport. His coaching style strongly emphasizes edgework, power skating, and skill development.

Andy grew up playing hockey in Newfoundland, including three years of junior hockey, before moving to Fort McMurray. As a coach and ISSA Certified Personal Trainer, he focuses on skill development, mindset, and off-ice training to help athletes reach their full potential.
With experience in the MJHL (OCN Blizzard) and ACAC (Keyano College), Brock brings a strong background in player development, strength, and conditioning. He’s passionate about building confidence and character in young athletes.
Leo, a current Oil Barons player, brings high level experience and exceptional leadership to our on ice training. His expertise and passion for the game make him a valuable addition to our program. He will be coaching on and off the ice with shooting sessions at the Top Shelf facility, to enhance athlete skills and elevate their performance on and off the ice.
From Strathcona County, plays for the Fort McMurray Oil Barons. Last year, he played U18 AAA for the Sherwood Park Kings. He began playing hockey at the age of four.
Nolan brings high level experience and strong leadership to our facility. His deep understanding of the game and advanced skills make him an invaluable part of our program. He will be offering shooting sessions at the Top Shelf facility, giving players high performance coaching to sharpen their technique and take their game to the next level as well as on the ice.
Top Shelf Development sponsors the U13 Huskies Pink team and the 2015 MOB team and will continue to support programs and athletes in Fort McMurray.
