Top Shelf Development Training Facility Policy

1. Purpose

The purpose of this policy is to outline the rules and expectations for the use of Top Shelf Development. This facility is designed to provide athletes with a safe and effective environment for improving their skills, conditioning, and performance outside of their primary sports field. It is important that all users adhere to the following guidelines to ensure safety, respect, and optimal use of the facility.

2. Eligibility & Access

  • Authorized Users: Only athletes, coaches, and staff members registered with the facility or specifically granted access are allowed to use the off-ice training facility.
  • Reservations: All sessions must be booked in advance, and time slots are on a first-come, first-served basis. Late arrivals or no-shows may lose their reservation.
  • Access Control: Entry is restricted to authorized personnel only. Access cards, PIN codes, or other security measures may be required to enter.

3. Facility Use

  • Training Areas: Users should only use the designated areas for specific activities (e.g., skating simulators, strength training, agility drills, etc.). Unauthorized use of equipment or space is prohibited
  • Equipment Use:
    • All equipment must be used according to its intended purpose and manufacturer guidelines.
    • Athletes are responsible for inspecting equipment before use. Any issues must be reported to staff immediately.
    • Before use, the facility must approve personal training equipment (e.g., protective gear, weights).
    • Supervision: Coaches or staff members must supervise training sessions for younger athletes or those unfamiliar with the equipment.

4. Safety Guidelines

  •  Injury Prevention: Users must warm up before beginning any training activity and cool down afterward. Stretching, proper technique, and hydration are essential to minimize risk.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Appropriate gear, such as helmets and footwear, must be worn as required by the nature of the training. Any required protective gear will be specified for each type of session.
  • Emergency Procedures: All users must familiarize themselves with emergency exits and procedures. In case of injury or an emergency, alert staff immediately and follow the posted emergency protocol.

5. Code of Conduct

  • Respect for Others: Athletes, coaches, and staff are expected to treat one another with respect and professionalism. Disruptive behaviour, including bullying, harassment, or discrimination, will not be tolerated.
  • Cleanliness: Users are responsible for keeping the facility clean and organized. All personal items must be stored in the designated areas, and users should clean up after themselves when using equipment or common spaces.
  • Food and Drink: Only water in a spill-proof bottle is allowed in training areas. Other food and drink are prohibited.

6. Facility Maintenance

  • Reporting Issues: Any damages, malfunctions, or hazards must be reported immediately to facility staff. Users should not attempt to fix or adjust equipment themselves.
  • Scheduled Maintenance: The facility will be closed for maintenance periodically. Notice will be given in advance, and all users should plan training sessions accordingly.
  • Cleaning: Regular cleaning will take place during off-hours. Users are expected to clean any equipment they use and dispose of trash appropriately.

7. Health & Wellness

  • Illness or Injury: Any athlete feeling unwell or injured must notify the coach or facility staff and refrain from training until medically cleared.
  • Medical Clearance: Athletes returning from injury or surgery must provide medical clearance before returning to training.
  • Hydration & Nutrition: Proper hydration and nutrition are essential for safe and effective training. It is the responsibility of the athletes to stay hydrated and consume appropriate nutrition.

8. Compliance & Consequences

  • Policy Adherence: All users must follow this policy and all instructions given by the facility’s coaches, staff, and management.
  • Disciplinary Action: Violations of this policy may result in suspension or loss of facility access, fines, or other disciplinary actions depending on the severity of the infraction.

9. Liability & Insurance

– Waiver: All athletes, coaches, and staff must sign a liability waiver before using the off-ice training facility, acknowledging that they understand the risks associated with training.

– Insurance Coverage: The facility maintains insurance coverage for general operations and facility use. Athletes are encouraged to have personal health insurance to cover any injuries that may occur during training.

 

10. Updates & Amendments

This policy may be updated periodically to reflect changes in operations, safety procedures, or other relevant factors. All users will be notified of any changes to the policy.

 

Acknowledgment:

All users agree to adhere to the policies outlined above when using the off-ice training facility. Failure to comply with these guidelines can result in the revocation of access to the facility.
